All Three Public Hospitals in North Gaza Out of Service Amid Israeli Offensive

the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza has announced that all three public hospitals in northern Gaza are now “out of service” as Israel intensifies its military offensive in the region. On Sunday, the ministry reported that Israeli forces had besieged the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, subjecting it to heavy fire and blocking the entry of patients, medical staff, and supplies.

The Indonesian Hospital was the last functioning medical facility in northern Gaza, following the destruction of Beit Hanoun Hospital and Kamal Adwan Hospital. The ministry stated, “After the destruction of Beit Hanoun Hospital and Kamal Adwan Hospital, and the Indonesian Hospital being put out of service, all public hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip are now out of service.”

The escalation comes as Israel launched “Operation Gideon’s Chariot” on Saturday, marking one of the deadliest waves of strikes in Gaza in months. Meanwhile, Hamas has proposed a deal to release nine hostages in exchange for a 60-day truce and the release of Palestinian prisoners, according to a Palestinian official who spoke to the BBC after fresh negotiations.

The collapse of medical services in northern Gaza raises grave concerns over the humanitarian crisis, with thousands of injured and sick civilians left without access to critical care. International observers continue to call for urgent de-escalation and aid access to the besieged enclave.
